Maruyama is lined with boutiques and select shops that will make your eyes turn into hearts just by looking through the windows.
Furthermore, there are many famous restaurants and hidden gem cafes that consistently rank highly.

In Maruyama, there's a place that fulfills the wishes of picky girls who want to "go to a stylish cafe and post cute photos on social media, but also eat until they're full!"
There's a lovely bakery nearby.

Everyone agrees that the bread is delicious, every single loaf is incredibly tasty, and apparently, they even offer an all-you-can-eat option at that shop...!

I actually went to the restaurant everyone's been talking about.

Shop information

The shop's name is Pain au Traditionnel.

The name itself sounds stylish and raises expectations.
The store is located on the first floor of Maruyama Class, and you can see inside from the main street.

The exterior also features large glass windows reminiscent of a European cafe.
Among them, there were people happily chatting face-to-face, and others engrossed in reading alone—a variety of activities.

Stepping inside Maruyama Class, I peered into the glass-fronted display case and saw a variety of delicious-looking breads lined up.

The faces of the customers choosing their items are truly beaming with happiness. The shop is constantly bustling with people coming and going.
Takeout is available, and there's also a cafe space where you can eat in.

Lunchtime at the cafe starts at 11:00 AM.
Before that, there's also a morning time slot from 9 am to 11 am.

The breakfast menu is also appealing.
The lunch menu offers two options: your choice of sandwich or a bread assortment.

For those who love bread and simply want to eat as much as they like, we recommend a bread assortment.
You can enjoy bread from popular bakeries to your heart's content.

All lunch menu items come with a salad, soup, and drink.

Both the salad and the soup are packed with vegetables.
It's a welcome treat for health-conscious individuals and helps alleviate the guilt of women struggling with dieting.

The bread menu changes daily, and you can choose from six types listed on the blackboard.

These were the six types of bread available on the day I went to interview them.

Croissants are the undisputed number one seller in stores.

Baguette made with natural yeast.

Ciabatta is an unbeatable combination when paired with salad and olive oil.

Macadamia nuts, packed with large, chunky macadamia nuts.

The honey and mixed grain bread, with its sweet honey and soft texture, is truly captivating (this was my favorite!).

The combination of cheese and spinach is superb with Epinal cheese.
Initially, all varieties are served together.

The style is that you can try all the different kinds and then order your favorites as many times as you like.
Each one is cut into about a third of its original size, so you can enjoy a little bit of each kind, which is great.

Everything is delicious, and the staff always ask if you'd like to eat anything else, so I end up eating too much.
There's no time limit, so you can enjoy your meal without worrying about the clock.

The fact that you can eat as much as you want for just 1000 yen (tax included) is amazing. You'll definitely want to go back again and again.

Even after you've had your fill, there's the tempting option of a cake set, so you might end up eating again, telling yourself, "There's always room for dessert!"

It's amazing that such a wonderful shop where you can eat as much delicious bread as you want is located just a one-minute walk from Maruyama Park Station after getting off the subway.

Once your heart and stomach are full from delicious bread, you might want to take a stroll around Maruyama Park and other areas, and take a slightly longer route home.
Also, there are many other delicious bakeries in Maruyama.

After a short walk, I started feeling hungry again...

Even though I've eaten a lot, if I find another new shop, I just have no choice but to buy a lot more.

Besides Pain au Traditionnel, I encourage you to find your own favorite bakery!
