Access to Niseko (by car)

■From New Chitose Airport: Distance: Approximately 109 km, approximately 3 hours and 10 minutes by car.
After leaving the airport, take Route 16 (Shikotsu Lake Road) towards Lake Shikotsu. If you turn onto Route 276 and continue driving with Mount Yotei in front of you, you will reach Kutchan Station. Alternatively, you can take Routes 230 and 66 to reach Niseko Station.

■From Sapporo: Distance: Approximately 95 km, approximately 2 hours 30 minutes by car.
Roads in Hokkaido If using public roads, start from Sapporo Station and take Route 230 towards Jozankei Onsen. After passing Nakayama National Highway and Nakayama Pass, continue straight towards Rusutsu Resort. Alternatively, take Route 66 towards Niseko Station. From Route 276, you can go towards Kutchan Station. If you take Route 66, you will see Mount Yotei on your right, and if you take Route 276, you will see it on your left.

Alternatively, you could take the expressway (Sapporo Expressway) and head south from Yoichi on Route 5, but I recommend taking the mountain pass route since you're already there! (The arrival time is almost the same whether you take the expressway or the regular roads). Of course, if you're not comfortable with mountain roads, taking the expressway is a good option!

*If traveling by train: From New Chitose Airport, travel to Sapporo, and then take the "Express Bus - Express Niseko (2 hours 49 minutes)" from the Sapporo Station bus terminal.

Summary

Most cottages in Niseko are spacious, taking advantage of the local landscape, but I always think that if I'm going to spend that much money, I'd like to choose one that's also carefully designed in terms of the building and interior. A private villa with no interference offers a completely different sense of freedom!
