1. Essential information you should know before skiing at Niseko Grand Hirafu

Niseko Grand Hirafu is the largest ski resort in the entire Niseko mountain range, boasting one of the largest scales in Japan and world-class snow quality.
With 30 different courses, a maximum slope of 40 degrees, and a maximum run of approximately 5.6 km, you can enjoy long runs.
Furthermore, Niseko is incredibly appealing for its fresh snow, which is known as "aspirin snow" (snow with tiny grains that are as light and powdery as aspirin crystals), and it enjoys a very fortunate environment where this snow falls and accumulates on its vast slopes.
Unlike many ski resorts where you often find "hard, icy slopes underneath the powder," this resort is truly a "powder paradise," where "all you can hear is the soft sound of cutting through the snow," unlike anything you've ever experienced before.

The course variations are diverse, including tree runs where you can ski exhilaratingly through the snow, and groomed slopes with irresistible changes in gradient that you enter from fully open ungroomed slopes near the summit. There are plenty of elements to make you want to ski.
It's designed to be enjoyable for a wide range of skill levels, from beginners to advanced players.
Among them, I recommend the Alpine Course for long runs, and the Second Wall Course for advanced skiers who want a challenging run.
If you enjoy change and are motivated by challenges, then please give it a try!

Niseko Grand Hirafu is truly a powder snow paradise that Japan can be proud of, and in terms of scale, snow quality, and everything else, it's top-notch.
And the view of skiing with Mount Yotei right in front of you is a must-see. Even if you can't ski, you can take the gondola up and enjoy the spectacular view, so be sure to bring your children along.
With a wide variety of courses, excellent snow conditions, and hotels and restaurants nearby, you can comfortably enjoy the resort without any inconvenience.
You can enjoy the excellent snow quality even at night, and the gondola is still operating, so you can ski long distances at night.
Let's conquer the free and dynamic slopes that you can't easily experience on Honshu!
2. It's a waste to just slide! Recommended activities
~Snorkel Hiking~
Image provided by: Niseko Grand Hirafu
Snorkel hiking is an activity where you walk while wearing special skis.
This is a great way to slowly explore a world of pure white snow, making it perfect for those who don't like speeding or who want to experience walking down a snowy mountain.

On a clear day, you can find yourself in a breathtaking landscape that seems otherworldly.
If you take your time walking, you can see all the scenery that you might otherwise miss, so please give it a try!
~Free Ride Park~
Image provided by: Niseko Grand Hirafu
The currently trending freeride is something I definitely want to try. This is a serious course with plenty of snow gathered to create a solid base, and it has ample height.
This thrilling park has numerous jump ramps scattered throughout, so you can try again and again!
Image provided by: Niseko Grand Hirafu
The best part of a freeride park is definitely being watched by an audience.
It's a challenge to fly and land as you hoped, and to perform tricks, but it's also a place where strangers gather with the same goal and deepen their bonds.
Try to hone your skills by exchanging information and aim for the style you envision!

3. Search for nearby hotels!
3-1. Hotel Niseko Alpen
Image provided by: Niseko Grand Hirafu
The Hotel Niseko Alpen, operated by Tokyu Resort Service, boasts an exceptional location, situated right in front of the Niseko Grand Hirafu ski resort.
Having direct access to the hotel is incredibly convenient, making it a great choice for night skiers and families alike! The excellent views of the slopes from the windows are also a major draw.
The hotel boasts excellent facilities, including hot springs, a bedrock bath, and an indoor pool, making it a comfortable place to stay.
Furthermore, free Wi-Fi is available in the guest rooms, making it convenient for smartphone users to research tomorrow's course, post on Line or Facebook, and more.

The hot springs include a large indoor bath and an open-air bath, where you can relax and enjoy the scenery outside.
The spring water is a sodium, magnesium, bicarbonate, chloride, and sulfate spring (hypotonic, neutral, high-temperature spring), and is mainly effective for neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, and bruises, making it ideal for soothing tired bodies after skiing or snowboarding.
Furthermore, since bedrock bathing helps to eliminate waste products and toxins from the body, using them together is very effective!
Let's warm ourselves from the inside out and enjoy a luxurious experience for both mind and body.
Meals are mainly served buffet style. There is a wide variety of food available, so even picky eaters can find something to enjoy! Let's get energized by enjoying the bounty of Hokkaido's ingredients!

3-2. Yumoto Niseko Prince Hotel Hirafutei

The first hotel in Hokkaido to install private open-air hot spring baths in its guest rooms was "Yumoto Niseko Prince Hotel Hirafutei".
With 62 rooms featuring private open-air hot spring baths, this hotel boasts the second-highest number in Japan. It's a popular choice because guests can enjoy natural hot springs to their heart's content.
It offers easy access to Grand Hirafu, just a 3-minute walk away. The distance is manageable, making it ideal for those who want to enjoy both snow activities and a private open-air hot spring bath in their room.

Thanks to their unique techniques, Hirafutei's natural hot springs can be enjoyed at a comfortable temperature without needing to add cold water to the source, which is why it's often said that "the baths at Hirafutei warm you up really well."
No water is added, meaning it's the natural spring water, so the effects are immediate! There are 210 milligrams of dissolved carbon dioxide in one liter, which stimulates the skin and promotes blood circulation.
It can be expected to have various effects such as relieving neuralgia, muscle pain, cold sensitivity, and fatigue, so please try warming yourself up slowly.
Although the area is surrounded by the natural beauty of Niseko and therefore coexists with various creatures, measures have been taken to keep insects and other pests away from the open-air bath, so you can enjoy bathing with peace of mind.

And at Hirafutei, the gourmet buffet featuring over 50 dishes made with plenty of seasonal ingredients from Niseko is extremely popular.
Both dinner and breakfast are highly regarded, and only carefully prepared items are served, from the appetizers to the tempura and seafood fried right in front of you by the chefs.
The luxury of warming yourself to the core in a hot spring and then eating more delicious food than you can handle is truly the essence of travel. Please make the most of this unforgettable time.
As Hirafutei is currently very popular and difficult to get a reservation at, please make your reservation well in advance if you would like to dine there!

3-3. Niseko Park Hotel

Located in the heart of the base town, Niseko Park Hotel is an attractive hotel for long-term stays, offering convenient access and reasonable prices.
It offers easy access to the bustling downtown area, which has become increasingly popular in recent years, making it a great choice for those who want to enjoy après-ski activities.
The bath is available 24 hours a day, so you can relax and enjoy a bath without worrying about the time, even after returning from the bustling downtown area.
The bathwater is heated natural spring water from the foot of Mount Yotei, rich in minerals, so you can enjoy a luxurious bath with soft water quality that rivals that of a hot spring. It's gentle on your skin and allows you to feel the blessings of nature.
Please note that Niseko Park Hotel does not accept day visitors for bathing; the baths are exclusively for hotel guests. This means you can enjoy them at your leisure without worrying about crowds.

The breakfast at Niseko Park Hotel is quite luxurious.
A wide variety of dishes are available to ensure a well-balanced meal.
There are several kinds of bread alone! In addition, there are salads made with local ingredients, and for those who prefer Japanese food, there are simmered dishes and pickles, so you'll want to try both Japanese and Western food.
On a clear day, you can enjoy a meal while taking in a panoramic view of Mount Yotei from the restaurant, which will really give you the feeling that you're in Niseko.
Enjoy a delicious buffet, get plenty of nutrients, and have a great day!
*Please note that we have not been serving dinner since the 2014/15 season.
Since we're out and about tonight, let's head out to the entertainment district!

3-4. Ki Niseko

"Ki Niseko" stands out as a place in Niseko that many people dream of staying at at least once, with its distinctive blend of Japanese modern design.
The luxurious appearance and tasteful colors further enhance the world of silver and white.
As it's a luxury hotel and condominium, it's versatile enough to accommodate long-term stays, those who prefer to cook their own meals, families, and large groups.
Another great feature is its direct access to the slopes; the Grand Hirafu high-speed gondola is less than 100 meters away, making it incredibly convenient.

The hotel's hot spring facilities include indoor baths, open-air baths, a sauna, and private hot spring rooms.
The hot springs in the Niseko area are rich in natural minerals, making them gentle on the skin and offering potential skin-beautifying effects.
Private hot spring baths require reservations, so please ask the concierge!

And when you stay at Ki Niseko, I highly recommend trying the restaurant "Anzu Dining" located on the first floor of the building.
Our head chef, who has won awards overseas, will serve you delicious dishes that are also visually stunning.

As expected from Hokkaido, the seafood is incredibly fresh. The local ingredients are full of the rich flavor and vitality of the vegetables.
After warming up in the hot springs, savor a meal made with carefully selected ingredients. Let's enjoy the ultimate luxury.
