5. Uoma

When I asked local taxi drivers, "Where's a good, casual sushi restaurant in Otaru?", many of them recommended Uoshin.

Located a short distance from Otaru Station, this spacious restaurant has counter and table seating on the first floor and tatami seating on the second floor, and is widely known for its reasonable prices and generous portions.

Uoshin Nigiri

This is the restaurant's main dish, "Uoshin Nigiri," a very affordable set of 15 nigiri pieces for 2800 yen.

Sea urchin, shrimp, salmon roe, abalone, surf clam, mantis shrimp, scallops, and more... What's more, this set also comes with "dobinmushi" (steamed seafood in an earthenware pot)!

Since it's a set, there are no additional charges.

Besides nigiri sushi and seafood bowls, I also recommend the tempura, which contains two large, plump shrimp.

Uoshin Signboard

"Uoshin" is easily recognizable by its white sign with blue lettering. In addition to the nigiri sushi set I mentioned earlier, their sashimi is also generously portioned and very satisfying.

In addition to sake, they also offer shochu and wine, so enjoying sushi while having a drink in the evening would be a delightful and atmospheric experience.
