As you drive along National Route 238, you'll see a tower with a unique shape. This tower, which is also a symbol of Oumu Town, is designed with an airship as its motif.
Climbing to the observation deck at the top, you'll find a spacious Sky Cabin. From here, you can enjoy views of the Sea of Okhotsk, which displays different expressions throughout the seasons.
Inside the roadside station, you'll find a wide variety of local specialties, including "Dattan soba" (buckwheat noodles made with Tartary buckwheat flour). Also, right next to the roadside station is "Dezuka Foods," which sells high-quality kamaboko (fish cakes).
With such a wide variety of kamaboko (fish cakes), it's hard to choose just one! Their perfect size makes them ideal for a light snack and a great travel companion.

Cape Hinode, which juts out into the Sea of Okhotsk, is said to derive its name from the Ainu word "shi-notetu" (large cape). It is famous as a spot where you can watch and photograph beautiful sunrises.
At the cape, there is a glass-enclosed observation deck called La Luna, where you can comfortably enjoy the scenery even in windy Oumu town.

At the nearby campsite, you can enjoy fishing and other outdoor activities in the summer, allowing you to fully enjoy the outdoors.
We recommend the bungalows, which feature a distinctive colorful exterior. Because the entrance faces the sea, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Okhotsk Sea every time you open the door.

Oumu Town has many spots where unspoiled nature remains.
Japan boasts several places worthy of being called hidden gems, such as the Piyashiri Marsh, the northernmost high-altitude wetland, as well as the Kanmon Falls and Shoryu Falls, but these are now difficult to access.
In the past, tours to the Piyashiri wetlands have been held here, and there are many attractive places for those who love remote and secluded areas.
Because it's a bear habitat, it's not a place you can easily visit, but if you're interested, you should gather information from the tourist association or other sources.

Any type of camera is acceptable, and the period runs from New Year's Day through autumn, so taking photos of stunning scenery while traveling and submitting them right away would make for a great memory.
