The hugely popular event "Kitami Extreme Cold Barbecue Festival," the icebreaker Aurora, and the sightseeing train "Drift Ice Story,"
This is a must-do tour that lets you enjoy Kitami's local cuisine, Asahiyama Zoo, and the best of winter in Hokkaido.

**Tour Highlights**

・You've been invited to the hugely popular annual event, "Kitami's Extreme Cold Barbecue Festival"! Let's have fun with piping hot barbecue and a raffle in the freezing cold!

Enjoy the daytime drift ice aboard the Abashiri icebreaker "Aurora"!

・For lunch on the second day, we will be serving Kitami City's local specialty, "Okhotsk Salted Yakisoba"!

・Ride the popular sightseeing train "Drift Ice Story"! Be amazed by the scenery you see from inside the train!

★Convenient for long journeys! We will be using buses equipped with Wi-Fi (however, there may be times when the connection is unavailable, such as in mountainous areas).

• Kamikawa Taisetsu Sake Brewery, Japan's newest sake brewery, has been selected to serve in JAL's first class, and its sake is a meticulously crafted product made using traditional methods. Let's find your favorite bottle.

• This hugely popular event in Kitami, the city famous for its yakiniku (Japanese barbecue), sells out instantly every year. Come and experience the unique cold and deliciousness of northern Japan outdoors at night when temperatures can drop to minus 10 degrees Celsius! Please dress warmly.

  JR Drift Ice Story Train
  (From Abashiri Station to Kitahama Station)
• 

• This sightseeing train, which began operation in 2017 as the successor to the "Ryuhyo Norokko" train, is full of attractions, including its blue exterior and specially designed seats! Be sure to imprint the sight of drift ice, which can only be enjoyed while riding this train, into your memory. (*All seats are unreserved.)

• Tofutsu Lake Waterfowl Center(Stay: 15 minutes)

• Lake Tofutsu, where the sea and river meet, is known as a paradise for wild birds, and in winter, you can see many waterfowl resting there on their way south.

• Boarding the icebreaker Aurora for ice floe sightseeing.(Boarding at 11:00)
• 

• In Abashiri, you'll finally get to see the drift ice you've been waiting for! Enjoy a drift ice cruise aboard the icebreaker "Aurora"!

• Okhotsk Beer(Meal time: 50 minutes)
• For lunch, enjoy Kitami's famous scallop-based local specialty, "Kitami Shio Yakisoba" (salt-fried noodles). The fried noodles served on a hot plate are absolutely delicious!

Fee details

Points to note

*The "Kitami Extreme Cold Barbecue Festival" is an outdoor dining event.
　　The venue will be extremely cold, with temperatures dropping below -10 degrees Celsius, so please dress warmly.
*Drift ice is not guaranteed to be visible.
*Regarding the Aurora cruise, if there is no drift ice, we will refund 500 yen per person.
　In the event of cancellation due to bad weather, we will make an alternative stop at the Okhotsk Drift Ice Museum. In that case, we will refund 2300 yen per adult and 1000 yen per child.
*Please note that all seats on the "Drift Ice Story" train are unreserved, so if there are no seats available, you will have to stand.
*For reservations of 3 or more people (an odd number), a twin room and a single room will be provided.
It is not possible to use one room for three people. Also, there is an additional charge of 1000 yen for single occupancy.
After your reservation is confirmed, we will add 1000 yen to your payment.
