A Segway is a vehicle that allows you to accelerate and change direction simply by shifting your weight. Its movements are smooth and light, and once you get the hang of maintaining your balance, you can practically take a stroll while standing. The unique Segway is something that I'm sure many people have thought about wanting to ride at least once.
This article will introduce Segway tours offered in Hokkaido and their attractions.
The original Segway, a vehicle difficult for individuals to own, offers unparalleled stability, allowing you to effortlessly navigate off-road terrain in nature, leaving you feeling refreshed. Why not try a slightly different kind of stroll than usual?

3. Precautions when riding a Segway

Segway Hokkaido

There are a few things to keep in mind when riding a Segway.
First, regarding age restrictions, most places set it at "16 years old and above."
Furthermore, since Segways are operated by shifting your weight, there is a weight limit of 45 kg to 118 kg for tours.

Other points to note are as follows:
- Riding in shoes unsuitable for driving, such as high heels.
• Persons under the influence of alcohol
・Pregnant women
Others whose health condition makes them unsuitable for riding a Segway
- Individuals who are unable to walk or are unable to walk independently.

In addition to the above, pack your belongings in a shoulder bag or backpack so that both hands are free. Since you will be experiencing this activity in a nature-rich area, it would be a good idea to bring insect repellent, sunscreen, and a light shirt.

Final thoughts

When I first rode a Segway, the handlebars swayed back and forth, and I couldn't stand on the footrest at first.
The reason for wobbling is not only due to your standing position, but also, in most cases, because you're tensing your hands and shoulders.
Look straight ahead, calmly place your feet on the steps, and definitely give Segway riding a try!
