7. Top 3 Popular Agricultural Products You'll Want to Buy

1st place: "Melon"

A wide selection of premium melons from Hokkaido!

Yubari melons are an exceptionally fine variety of melon, known for their exceptionally soft and juicy flesh, and are considered one of Japan's most representative melon varieties.
Only melons that pass the extremely rigorous inspections conducted by the Yubari City Agricultural Cooperative are allowed to be called "Yubari Melon" for the first time.

In addition to these, there are various other types of melons, such as "Furano Melon," "Hobetsu Melon," and "Raiden Melon."
These are top-quality fruits, perfect as a gift for someone special or a treat for yourself. They are in season from June to August.

2nd place: Corn

You can eat corn raw!

The large temperature difference between day and night in Hokkaido produces sweet and delicious corn.

During the day, they receive plenty of sunlight, allowing them to store sugar.
Because the temperature is low at night, the corn's sugar consumption through respiration is minimized, allowing it to store more sweetness.

Its exceptional sweetness makes it edible even raw—it's practically a fruit!
Corn varieties with a single yellow kernel include "Gold Rush" and "Sunny Chocolat."
"Yume no Corn" is a two-color corn with yellow kernels mixed with white kernels.
And then there's the legendary white corn, "Pure White."

Corn from Hokkaido is a very popular gift! Please try it at least once.

3rd place: Asparagus

Boiled, grilled, or raw – there are so many ways to enjoy it!

Freshly picked asparagus tastes best boiled and served with mayonnaise!
It's easy to make, just grill it and sprinkle with salt, but it's delicious! Pasta mixed with asparagus, canned tuna, and onions is also a good choice!

Asparagus comes in three colors: green, white, and purple. However, many people prefer green asparagus because of its color, aroma, texture, and the fact that it's readily available fresh.
Asparagus has long been known as an ingredient with high fatigue-relieving properties, and is also said to be effective in preventing anemia and high blood pressure. Its peak season is from April to June.
