Lately, have you been feeling like things just aren't going well, or that you're having bad luck? Or perhaps you feel like you're just not getting the romantic connections you want? If so, why not visit a power spot to recharge your energy? This time, we'll introduce five popular power spots in Sapporo that might just boost your spirits and even help with love!
1. Hokkaido Shrine

When it comes to power spots in Sapporo, Hokkaido Shrine is a must-see. It attracts the most visitors during the New Year's pilgrimage.

This shrine is bustling with many people enjoying cherry blossoms during the cherry blossom season.

The standard cherry tree for Sapporo used to be at Hokkaido Shrine. However, it's now about 80 years old, so its blooming has become delayed. Therefore, in the spring of 2012, the standard tree was changed to a younger cherry tree at the Sapporo Regional Meteorological Observatory. It's a changing of the guard, isn't it? It makes me feel a little sad.

3. Sapporo Fushimi Inari Shrine
Sapporo Fushimi Inari Shrine is located at the foot of Mt. Moiwa. It's a shrine with a historical feel, having been established in 1884 (Meiji 17) by branching off from an Inari shrine in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto. Interestingly, the area surrounding this shrine is also called Fushimi.
And speaking of Fushimi Shrine, there are the thousand torii gates. While Sapporo Fushimi Shrine doesn't have a thousand, there are 27 torii gates lined up along the approach to the shrine. If you climb the slope below the torii gates, you will reach the main shrine.
This is what it looks like from above.
■Wish stone
Near the purification fountain is a wish-granting stone, also known as the "living stone." It is said that your wish will be granted if you give up one of your favorite things.

4. Soma Shrine

Soma Shrine, located about a 5-minute walk from Sumikawa Station on the Namboku Subway Line, or about 10 minutes from Minami-Hiragishi Station, sits atop a low mountain called Tenjin-yama. Therefore, the steep uphill climb to the shrine is quite a memorable feature. Unfortunately, the photos don't quite capture the steepness of the slope. It's a shame…

This photo was taken on January 21, 2015. The fresh snow is beautiful. This is a fork in the road. The left path is a gentle uphill slope, but it's a longer route. Let's take the left path.

Since it's fresh snow, it's not slippery. It's quiet and beautiful. The temple grounds are surrounded by large trees and are lush with greenery. In autumn, the ginkgo leaves turn yellow, creating a very beautiful sight. The air is also very pure and feels refreshing.

And then we arrived. It was probably less than a five-minute walk from the fork in the road. It took a little longer because of the snowy path.

And then there's the sacred tree. It's said to be over 300 years old. It certainly has that kind of feel. This tree, which has lived far longer than a human lifespan, exudes a powerful energy just by being near it.

Walking around the spacious temple grounds is also good exercise.
■Next door is a ramen shopSapporo Junren Main Store'
Right next to Soma Shrine is Junren, a ramen shop that's always bustling with tourists. It's such a popular ramen shop that it's not uncommon to see people arriving by taxi just to eat there. After receiving some positive energy at Soma Shrine, be sure to stop by on your way home.

You often get the pleasant smell of corn around here.

The night view is also very beautiful.
