JR Tower Hotel Nikko SapporoSapporo is one of Hokkaido's leading tourist destinations. If you're going to stay there, you'd want a hotel with a relaxing hot spring, right? However, in reality, even among the well over 100 hotels in Sapporo, only a very small number have hot springs. So, we'll introduce six popular and highly-rated hotels in Sapporo that have hot springs – you can't go wrong with these!

JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo

If you're looking to invite someone special to Sapporo, celebrate a special occasion with a loved one while traveling, and especially if you love upscale places (both in terms of atmosphere and price) and stunning night views, then this is the place for you.

All guest rooms are located on high floors over 100 meters above the ground floor. This landmark hotel in Sapporo offers stunning views of the city, including an observation restaurant with the best panoramic views in Sapporo, and a restaurant (located in Sapporo Stellar Place) produced by renowned Hokkaido-born chef Kiyomi Mikuni.

[Sky Resort Spa Plaublan]

Located on the 22nd floor above ground, this "Sky Resort Spa" is, as its name suggests, the highest-altitude hot spring in Sapporo. You can enjoy a spa experience with the best night view.

The bathhouse, which uses natural hot spring water that gushes from 1,000 meters underground at Sapporo Station, offers two types of saunas, a massage bath in the women's bath (a type of standing bath), a bubble bath in the men's bath, and a relaxation zone where you can unwind in special spa wear. This zone includes a "relaxation lounge" with recliners offering panoramic views of Sapporo city, a cafe, and a women-only beauty zone where you can enjoy esthetic and hair treatments.

Furthermore, entry to the spa is restricted to those 18 years of age and older, making it an attractive place to relax in a quiet environment.

ホテルモントレエーデルホフ札幌

Next, I'd like to recommend a hotel to those who, while not necessarily needing the "JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo" mentioned at the beginning, still expect a certain level of quality from their hotel, those who prioritize a location near Sapporo Station, and those who desire a hotel with an open view.

Hotel Monterey Edelhof Sapporo is located about a 7-8 minute walk from Sapporo Station, on the upper floors of a building. All guest rooms are on the 16th floor, at over 60 meters high, making it one of the highest hotels in Sapporo.

The exterior and interior are inspired by "late 19th-century Vienna," and the European-style exterior and interior of the guest rooms are particularly popular with female guests.

[Carloli Bali Spa]

For those with a deep appreciation for hot springs, this large public bath is modeled after a famous spa town in Eastern Europe, the Czech Republic. Located on the 14th floor, it offers stunning views overlooking Sapporo city, along with an open-air bath, sauna, and jet bath. There's also a bedrock bath (additional charge), popular with women!

In addition, they offer a wide range of esthetic treatments, and their massage services, which include the gentle "Lomi Lomi" massage and the slightly stronger "Balinese" massage that stimulates the lymphatic system throughout the body, are said to be particularly popular.

3. Popular & Great Value! Authentic Hot Springs at a City Hotel

Hotel Mystays Premier Sapporo Park

Hotel Mystays Premier Sapporo Park

Now, the first two hotels I introduced were both located near Sapporo Station and had hot springs. Next, I'd like to introduce a hotel located south of Sapporo Station, near Nakajima Park, a popular spot for locals to relax, which has long been known for its hot springs!

Hotel Mystays Premier Sapporo Park (formerly Art Hotels Sapporo) is a city hotel located 90 meters above ground, and is one of the leading hotels in the Nakajima Park area.

In addition to its renowned hot springs, the hotel is highly regarded for its meals and services, including a breakfast focused on anti-aging, making it popular with both tourists and business travelers.

[Parkside Spa]

The main reason this hot spring is so popular is its water quality. It's a chloride spring with excellent heat retention properties, and it's renowned for keeping you warm and cozy even after you get out of the bath.

And there's a spacious bath with a jacuzzi, a sauna, and a clean "post-bath lounge" where you can relax in reclining chairs, plus a welcome women-only zone!

What's more, the large public bath is free for hotel guests! Although it's a full-fledged city hotel, depending on the dates, you can book it at a budget-friendly price, so we recommend checking the accommodation plans on various booking sites and the official website.

4. The No. 1 fully equipped hot spring resort in the heart of Susukino

Jasmack Plaza Hotel

Sapporo Jasmack PlazaNext, we'd like to introduce the Jasmack Plaza Hotel, which boasts the largest baths and most extensive hot spring facilities among hotels in central Sapporo.

Based on the concept of an urban inn centered around hot springs, guests are expected to wear yukata (traditional Japanese robes) and geta (traditional Japanese sandals) throughout the entire building, enjoying a relaxed lifestyle.

The restaurant offers a variety of casual dining options, from Japanese and Chinese set meals to rice bowls and à la carte dishes, and the rooms also come in a variety of styles, from single and twin Western-style rooms to Japanese-style rooms!

Located in the convenient Susukino area of Sapporo, this hotel is popular with a wide range of guests, from business travelers and families to groups using it for banquets.

[Susukino Natural Hot Spring Toukakyo]

With a large public bath that can easily accommodate over 100 people at once, multiple baths including a jacuzzi, a cypress wood open-air bath, and a salt sauna—a rarity in Sapporo—this onsen boasts an overwhelming array of facilities! It's popular not only with overnight guests but also with locals despite the high prices for day visitors.

Furthermore, the relaxation menu is extensive, offering everything from body scrubs and Chinese-style massages to women-only aesthetic treatments, Hawaiian and Balinese-style spa treatments, and hair and nail services.

5. If you're looking for a budget-friendly yet authentic hot spring experience, this is the place!

Natural Hot Spring Premier Hotel -CABIN- Sapporo (formerly Hotel Paco Jr. Susukino)

Next, we'll introduce business hotels with excellent hot spring facilities that are perfect for business travelers, solo travelers, budget-conscious travelers, and couples!

Its name is "Natural Hot Spring Premier Hotel -CABIN- Sapporo".
The location is about an 8-minute walk from the heart of Susukino. It's not exactly close to the station, but that means it offers great value for money.

Furthermore, the guest rooms include single, twin, and triple rooms, as well as affordable double rooms perfect for couples, all of which are pleasantly inexpensive.

[Natural hot spring bathhouse "Susukino no Yu"]

Now, onto the main topic: the hot springs! This is a three-story building (plus an open-air bath on the rooftop) located next to the hotel, and it's entirely comprised of the hot spring facilities!

With a large hot spring bath, bubble bath, sauna, cold plunge pool, and even an open-air bath and reclining bath on the rooftop, it's quite a well-equipped facility.

What's particularly thoughtful about this hot spring is that the stairs leading up to the rooftop (which they call the "health stairs") have underfloor heating, keeping you warm even in winter. The open-air bath on the rooftop is designed so you can relax and soak while watching TV. They also show great consideration by providing bathing suits for women who have surgical scars.

The hotel also boasts excellent hot spring water quality; the high-quality sodium chloride spring (slightly salty water) warms you to the core, leaving you feeling warm and cozy for a long time.

Châteraisé Gateau Kingdom Sapporo

Finally, let me introduce you to "Chateraise Gateau Kingdom Sapporo Hotel & Spa Resort," a resort with the concept of being "family-friendly," operated by the famous confectionery shop "Chateraise," located a little outside the city center of Sapporo.

This is Sapporo's premier large-scale resort hotel, boasting one of the largest indoor and outdoor pools in Hokkaido, complete with water slides and a kids' pool, a large hot spring bath, Japanese, Western, and Chinese restaurants, Chateraise's famous sweets, and a full range of spa treatments!

As for access from Sapporo city center, it's about 30 minutes by car from Sapporo Station and about 60 minutes from New Chitose Airport.

The free shuttle bus, which connects to downtown Sapporo in about 45 minutes, runs until midnight (buses to hotels after 22 PM depart from Susukino), making access to downtown Sapporo surprisingly convenient.

Furthermore, since May 2014, the guest rooms have been completely non-smoking, making the hotel even more child-friendly!

[Pool & Hot Springs]

At the pool where you can play in your swimsuit, there are indoor heated pools ranging from a children's pool to a relaxation pool and a jumbo pool, as well as water slides, and an outdoor pool that opens in the summer!

The hot spring zone boasts nine different types of baths, including open-air baths, ceramic baths, cypress baths, and bedrock baths, offering a variety of options that children and guests staying for multiple nights can enjoy without getting bored.
