 Ryusei Waterfall / Ginga Waterfall

These waterfalls are a part of Daisetsuzan National Park. It is located in Kamikawa district, Sounkyo, Hokkaido. There is a bunch of cliffs, stretching for 25 km, along the Ishigari River. This area is abundant with many beautiful waterfalls.

Ryusei waterfall and Ginga Waterfall are located alongside. Horyusei means "Falling star", Ginga means "Milky Way".

The Ginga waterfall which looks like a white thread and the Ryusei waterfall resembling cascade of falling stars create a perfect contrast. You can observe the waterfalls from the parking lot but of you walk for 20 minutes, there will be an observation deck with a much nicer view.

The waterfalls are also famous wit autumn leaves. Normally, the falling leaves season starts in October and reaches its peak in the middle of the month.
