What is Yurigahara Park?

Yurigahara Park is a comprehensive park in Kita Ward, Sapporo City, which opened in 58 on a vast plot of land covering 25.4 hectares.

The symbol of Yurigahara Park is the lily. More than 100 varieties of lilies alone are planted there, along with various other flowers such as tulips and lilacs.

Tulips begin to bloom around the beginning of May, followed by lilacs in late May, and the lilies, the park's symbol, bloom beautifully from early June to early September.

Furthermore, from around mid-October when the weather starts to get seriously cold, you can also enjoy the autumn foliage. Being able to enjoy various landscapes depending on the season is one of the charms of Yurigahara Park.

Furthermore, each flowerbed has its own theme, and various efforts have been made to entertain visitors.

The course is approximately 1.8km per lap, and guide signs are posted, so you can use it with peace of mind. There is no lighting at night, so it can only be used during the daytime, but it is free for everyone to use.

If you're driving, it's about 8km from the area around Sapporo Station, a 20-minute drive, and parking is free. However, the parking lot can get crowded from early in the morning on weekends, so be sure to allow plenty of time.

If you're going by train, take the JR Gakuen Toshi Line from Sapporo Station. It takes about 20 minutes to reach Yurigahara Park Station, and from there it's about a 10-minute walk to Yurigahara Park.
