Senboshi Misaki Park, Rebun Island

 Senboshi Misaki Park, Rebun Island

Senboshi Misaki Part is a park on Rishiri Island. It is located on southernmost tip of the island, where there are strangely shaped rocks, formed by the eruption of Mt. Rishiri. The sea at Rishiri is highly transparent, you can observe sea urchins and sea cabbage. In summer, you can also feed seals.

In the center of Rishiri Island there is Rishiri Mountain, so weather also changes depending on the wind. For example, in summer there a lot of days when wind blows in Northeast and Southwest directions. When northeastern wind blows from Kutsugata to Senboshi Misaki Park, the weather is good, when it blows from Oshidomari to Oniwaki the weather is bad. It is the other way around during Southwestern wind, so have that in mind when you plan your trip.

Access

From Kutsugata Port take Soya bus for 20 minutes. There is a free parking lot in the park.
